MPC Announces Launch of Emissions Tracking Tool

Modular Process Control, LLC (MPC) announces that it has launched its emissions tracking tool to integrate into their proprietary energy management system. The tool enables their clients to establish a baseline of emissions based on their energy usage.

There is an old saying in business that what gets measured gets managed. Once the energy and associated emissions baseline is established, MPC offers a host of real time energy management solutions that will be accessed by the client remotely for monitorization. The emissions tracking tool can be customized to the client’s operations and allows the client to track emissions by source, by facility, and by type of emissions gas. A suite of user-friendly features including historical trend graphs and automatically generated reports allow the client to easily understand the enterprise’s emissions profile and to demonstrate compliance with local, state or federal regulations.

With a comprehensive emissions inventory in place, MPC provides guidance on different ways to capture the value of a customer’s emissions reductions that likely result from energy usage reductions. From voluntary registries like the California Climate Action Registry (CCAR) to active participation in carbon markets like the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) or the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), MPC has the expertise to help our clients navigate this increasingly complex landscape.

New federal regulations regarding greenhouse gas emissions will likely be in effect by 2012. A number of regional “cap and trade” programs will start in the next few years. The EPA has already announced that new rules regarding mandatory reporting of greenhouse gases will be released in June 2009. MPC will use the emissions tracking tool to help our clients understand and prepare for these developments and others that arise in a carbon-constrained world.
